Beginnings and Evolution

Exonet Complete Business Software was developed in 1998 as a turnkey solution for one of the regions largest PC manufacturers operating what is commonly referred to today as the 'Dell Model' or built to order PC's.

The design and development of what is now known as Exonet Complete Business Software was undertaken by people with IT and business backgrounds, people who knew what they wanted out of a business software suite, but found that it did not exist.

This unique mix of business and technology acumen is clearly apparent today in Exonet's ease of use and depth of functionality and is superior to solutions developed by programming teams in isolation of the real business world.

MYOB invests in Exonet

During 2004 MYOB Limited gained a 30% stake in Exonet through the merger with Solution 6. In October 2005 MYOB increased its stake to 75% in recognition of Exonet's success to date and future potential. A full takeover followed, and the product was branded as MYOB Exonet.

A new name

On 16th June 2008, MYOB announced a complete re-branding of the Exonet product, to co-incide with the launch of a major new product release. The product suite is now referred to as MYOB EXO Business.

Product Development

MYOB has invested significantly in developing the product. There is now a client base of over 2000 businesses enjoying the benefits of a mature integrated business solution which, because of its underlying architecture of Microsoft SQL Database and Borland Delphi for application development means that the solution is virtually at the start of its product life cycle, and capable of leveraging future Microsoft technologies such as .NET with ease.

The Future

MYOB's vision and focus is to continually develop MYOB EXO Business MYOB EXO Business to cover all the requirements of growing and ever changing small and medium businesses. it is interesting to note that larger organizations, some with over 200 users, have chosen to implement MYOB EXO Business rather than considerably more expensive software. Releases and functional upgrades take advantage of the new features offered without complicated upgrade procedures. MYOB has a team working on product development, and is aiming to dominate the mid-market with this product.
